Welcome dancers! Auditions have concluded for our beautiful Ballet in the Park production. This year we are doing Tom Sawyer, a new ballet by David Justin, based on the novel! All dancers who want to be considered for a role in Tom Sawyer were required to fill out the Registration Form below. (scroll to bottom of page to begin)
Performances will be June 8-12 and September 8-11!
Audition Requirements were
Dancers must be no younger than 13 years old by May 31, 2022.
Dancers must have at least three years ballet experience.
Dancers must be currently enrolled in ballet classes at a local studio.

There are a limited number of adult character roles in this production. If you would like to be considered for one of those roles, please email Katie Andrusak.
Rehearsals are expected to start the first week of April. As part of the audition form process you will be asked to include your conflicts for certain days. We know all of our dancers have busy schedules with their studios and academics. We will use this information to create our rehearsal schedule to be as accommodating as we can be. While we cannot guarantee that we can work with everyone’s conflicts we will do our best to try!
A final rehearsal schedule will be emailed out after all commitments are received.
Audition Fee: Auditions will be taught by David Justin as a master class. There will be a $20.00 audition fee to be paid prior to your audition time on March 26, 2022.
Production Fee:There will also be a production fee of $100 to be paid prior to the start of rehearsals. Payment plans can be arranged.
Audition Information
Saturday March 26, 2022
All dancers who wish to be considered for a role in this year’s production must fill out the online registration form my MARCH 25, 2022 to be considered for a role.
All dancers need to arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled audition start time. This is so they can be checked in, measured and get warmed up prior to the start of their audition.
Advanced Audition: 10:30 am-12:00pm
For dancers that MUST have at least 4 years or more of pointe training, and all male dancers. Dancers should be prepared to audition with pointe shoes if they want to be considered for pointe roles.
Intermediate Audition: 12:30pm-2:00pm
For dancers with 3 years or less of pointe. There is no requirement your dancer being on pointe to audition at this time.

Make Up Audition
Wednesday March 23, 2022
If you are not available to attend the March 26th audition date, March 23rd’s Ballet III /Advanced class at 5:00pm – 6:30pm will be held as a replacement audition.
For individuals who want to be considered for a pointe role, you will also need to attend Pointe class from 6:30pm – 7:30pm.
Please e-mail k.andrusak.balletwichita@gmail.com to let us know you are auditioning on March 23rd and have your audition form submitted beforehand.
If you cannot audition on either of the dates, please send a single link containing the following:
- A headshot photograph
- An arabesque/tendu a la second photo
- 5 to 10 minute video of classical ballet barre and center combinations (optional inclusion: performance/rehearsal material)
- Contact information: email, phone, name, name of audition individual, and information for us to stay in contact with you
(Dropbox, Hightail, and other software platforms are free to use and could help with digital submissions)
Casting Information
Our goal is to get the final casting and rehearsal schedule sent out to all dancers by March 30, 2022.
Roles will need to be accepted by April 1, 2o22 with rehearsals set to tentatively start on April 6, 2022.
COVID 19 POLICY
Masks will be optional indoors at the Ballet Wichita Studios which includes during the auditions and all rehearsals. Masks will not be required to be worn for any outdoor performances or rehearsals.
