Children's Program: A Magical Start to Ballet
At Ballet Wichita Academy, our Children’s Program is specially designed for young dancers ages 3-6 to take their first steps into the world of ballet. This enchanting program, thoughtfully developed by Ballet Wichita experts, combines our extensive knowledge of ballet programs across the country with a curriculum tailored to inspire and nurture children at this formative age.
With two delightful cohorts, Creative Movement (ages 3-5) and Primary Ballet (ages 5-6), we provide age-appropriate instruction that introduces the fundamentals of ballet in a joyful and engaging way.
The Children’s Program at Ballet Wichita welcomes boys and girls alike to discover the magic of ballet. With our expertly crafted curriculum, our classes provide a joyful balance of structure and imagination that sets children up for success in dance and beyond.
Creative Movement (Ages 3-5)
In Creative Movement, children explore the joy of movement through imaginative play, music, and rhythm. These classes focus on building coordination, balance, and spatial awareness while fostering a love for dance. Little ones will practice simple ballet positions, learn to follow directions, and develop their motor skills in a supportive and fun environment.

Primary (Ages 5-6)
For our older young dancers, Primary Ballet introduces the foundational techniques of classical ballet. Through playful exercises and age-appropriate terminology, children will begin to learn proper posture, and basic positions of the arms and feet. These classes also emphasize musicality, creativity, and self-expression to help young dancers grow in confidence and discipline.
