Katie Andrusak began her training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (RAFA)  in Clear Lake, Texas under Lynette Mason Gregg, Beverly Williams and Misha Barton. Katie’s early training was in the Cecchetti method before Misha Barton created a robust Vaganova program at RAFA. In 2005, Katie moved to Kansas and started dancing with Jill Landrith School of Dance and Ballet Wichita while finishing her senior year of highschool. Upon graduation, Katie attended college at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. While majoring in Sociology and Criminology, Katie took classes at the nationally known ballet program at Butler throughout her four years in Indianapolis. Katie eventually returned to performing with Ballet Wichita in 2016 where her role quickly transformed into one of instructing the next generation of dancers in Wichita.

Katie began instructing at Ballet Wichita as an intermediate adult ballet instructor. She found her passion for teaching through this experience as she began to see how she could influence another’s love of ballet and desire to progress. By 2019 Katie was teaching multiple levels of intermediate and advanced ballet in addition to conditioning and pointe related classes. Katie now teaches a robust mixture of levels for Ballet Wichita with a focus on technique, mechanics and artistry with the hopes to inspire the next generation to find the joy in ballet that Katie found at a young age.
