Pre-Professional Program: Cultivating Excellence in Ballet
At Ballet Wichita Academy, our Pre-Professional Program is designed for dedicated dancers ages 7–18 who are ready to deepen their ballet training and refine their artistry. This rigorous program, crafted by Ballet Wichita’s expert instructors, draws on the finest traditions of ballet education to provide a structured, progressive curriculum that challenges and inspires.
With four distinct levels—Ballet I, Ballet II, Ballet III, and Ballet IV—our program offers tailored instruction to meet dancers at their current skill level while guiding them toward mastery. Each cohort builds on the last, emphasizing technique, discipline, and artistic expression to prepare students for performance opportunities, advanced training, and beyond.
The Pre-Professional Program at Ballet Wichita is more than just training; it’s a pathway to excellence. Whether your dancer dreams of performing on stage or simply wants to grow their love for ballet, this program provides the tools, mentorship, and community to help them thrive.
Ballet I
In Ballet I, young dancers build a strong foundation in classical ballet technique. This level introduces proper posture, alignment, and basic ballet vocabulary, such as pliés, tendus, and relevés. Students will also develop musicality, coordination, and spatial awareness through barre and center work. With an emphasis on discipline and focus, Ballet I nurtures a love for ballet while preparing dancers for more advanced training.
